Antoxa House (SP)
Vivienda unifamiliar en Camoca, Asturias
A small 70 m² holiday home that plays with the topography of the site.
Part of the night area is partially buried into the slope, allowing the garden to sit flush with the interior and gently seep into the house when it’s time to rest.
By day, the house opens up through a subtle cut in the terrain—pushing the limits of regulations in terms of slopes and heights, but staying just within the line. The project can also be understood as a reinterpretation of the casa mariñana, a traditional Asturian rural typology from the area, here reimagined through a contemporary language and an off-centre porch that subtly recalls its vernacular spatial logic.
It blends quietly into its rural surroundings, with a textured concrete façade that anchors it into the land through a rich tectonic dialogue. In our office, this project also marked the first use of spray-applied cork, introduced to create a subtle contrast in texture between the frieze and the main façade plane.
